The sacrifice of wrestling

For an athlete wrestling is not just a sport, it’s a life style. If they are really into the sport they will go through a lot of sacrifices, pain, and glory. If they’re just there for fun then they do not have what it takes to succeed in the sport and be somebody on the mat.

The sacrifices happen because they set goals for each to accomplish. So for this they need to discipline themselves. Even if they need their style of doing things. They need to stay in shape all year long. By staning in shape I'm talking about working out, runing every night, going to summer practices nomatter what, and to push yourself to the limit.

Wrestlers commit themselves into traveling almost every weekend for tournaments, intensive or technical camps. The sacrifice in that is that you miss a family member’s birthday, you don’t get to spend much time with the girlfriend, or all the parties missed. But in the end it’s all worth it, because the feeling of coming home with a first place medal is greater than being at a party.
